Arthur Sikes drives a school bus for Washoe County. On June 29, while he was home alone, his right leg gave out while he was in the restroom. He crawled his way from the bedroom/bathroom to the living room to get to the phone to reach out for help. The paramedics picked him up, and he was admitted to Renown. He has severe DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and was given a blood thinner. He also has SEPSIS, and they still don't know where the infection is coming from. The blood thinner is not helping, and when the doctor tried to remove the clot through surgery, it was unsuccessful because his blood pressure dropped to 57/30. They had to bring him out of anesthesia because of this and could not perform the procedure. They have given him an MRI, ultrasound, and lots of tests, but no success as of yet. He is scheduled to see a Vascular Surgeon on Aug. 1.
During this time, he does not have an income as the School District informed him that they can't pay him as he can't use sick leave or PTO since it's summer break, and he is not currently receiving a check from them. I ask everyone if you can kindly help me help my parents during this difficult time. My mom doesn't work, and their only source of income is from my dad. I can only do so much, and I am reaching out for a little help. We have been through this difficult time before, and they have lost everything because of medical expenses, and we are going through it once again. Please help us cover medical expenses.
