Eight years ago, Mark and Elaine bought a home in Alanson, Michigan for their newly blended family of seven. On December 16th, 2021, their home caught on fire while everyone was away at work or school. Although the Alanson fire department got there quickly, their home was a total loss. In times like these, we appreciate the small things in life. The Arthur family is grateful that the Alanson fire department was able to save one of their two dogs that were in the home at the time of the fire. Dealing with the insurance company has brought to light a significant fact. Being as Mark and Elaine’s home was a modular there are special insurance rulings in place. These rules allow the insurance companies not to cover the replacement of a modular home. Needless to say, this leaves Mark, Elaine and the children with no home to live in while still having a mortgage to pay. Now they have to figure out how to move forward and the best way to provide a home for their family. Their best bet is to salvage the basement and either build or purchase a prefabricated one to put on top. This will be a long and hard project, especially as Mark is a truck driver and is only home a couple of days a week.
It would be wonderful if they could have some help with the financial burden they are facing. If you can find it in your heart and it won’t burden you to help financially, it would be so appreciated and such a blessing.
Thank you and God Bless.
