ArtCube Army was the stopgap PPE provider while the supply chain caught up with overwhelming demand.
Since March 20th...
We made and delivered 13,940 face shields to over 160 facilities (including 1000 driven to Navajo Nation.)
We bought Downstate and Kingsbrook goggles, gowns, and marine vinyl for partitions and even got some snacks sent over!
We bought bolts for fabric for 1000's of masks to be fabricated and donated.
Two months later, the curve is pointing in the right direction, it's time to move on and we're out of money, so good thing!
ArtCube Army is a network of Art Department freelancers in New York City and small businesses in film, television, theater and events.
We are working with Downstate Hospital and any and all front line workers that request shields. Over 30 to date!
Once the news of the dearth of PPEs hit the news, we realized we had to build a bridge between the immediate need and the sluggish supply chain. We quickly assembled a volunteer task force to use our specialized skills to fabricate much needed PPEs for our medical community.
ArtCube Army is particularly adept at this crisis as it’s rife with niche fabricators and artisans who are accustomed to fast action on no sleep with no room for error. We are the MacGyvers of production.
We are a small batch, quick turnaround operation sending our face shields all over New York City NOW. We adhere to a strict hygienic protocol in our production and deliveries. 1000's have already been delivered and our production will continue to scale in quantity and breadth of PPEs.
We have and will continue to serve many hospitals and front-line workers, including SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. To assist Downstate in the transition to a Covid-only hospital, we sourced vinyl sheeting, medical supplies and a prototype for intubation shields.
The money we raise will be spent on materials, delivery costs and assistance to others affected by this pandemic. The money is being collected by Eva Radke for distributing reimbursements (most of us have put expenses on personal credit cards) or direct payments to orgs that invoice us for services rendered (deliveries, mainly).
