Art's Transplant Medical Expenses

Hi Everyone!  I am setting up this fund for a wonderful friend Art Morris.  Art is about to undergo a kidney transplant in July, thanks to the generous kidney donation from living donor T.J. Crawford.  Both T.J. and Art are going to have substantial out of pocket medical and related expenses due to the transplant taking place out of town and the 6-8 week recovery period which will cause a loss of wages.

For 35 years Art worked for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Coastal Fisheries Division.  During this time, he devoted many hours to the protection of our coastal waters and wildlife.  Art established a program to remove abandoned crab traps from the Texas waters to protect the marine wildlife.  He has also served as President of the Texas Chapter of the American Fisheries Society and is a recipient of that organizations Outstanding Fisheries Employee of the Year for Fisheries Administration award.  He has also won multiple awards for his writing and photography from the Texas Outdoor Writers Association.  Art was named Biologist of the Year by the Corpus Christi Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association and was awarded the Coastal Bays Foundation Environmental Stewardship Award for Public Service. 

Art is the proud father of a wonderful young lady named Taneesa.  Both Art and Taneesa are of Native American heritage and are members of the Bear Clan of the Creek Nation.  Art is also a loving and caring partner to Gina and her children Ashley and Deven.

The funds you donate will be used solely to cover medical and related expenses for Art and his donor T.J.  Any extra funds will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation.
