Art Transformed: Support Roxy’s Tattoo Apprenticeship

Hi, my name is Roxy Williams, and I've been an artist since high school. Art has always been my greatest passion and the one thing that fulfills me. Though I received multiple scholarships for art school, financial struggles kept me from pursuing my formal education, but I never let that stop me from working hard and improving my craft. Three years ago, I found a new avenue for my artistic expression that truly resonated with me—tattooing.

I dedicated myself to curating a portfolio of designs, went shop to shop, and worked tirelessly in hopes of getting an apprenticeship. In December 2022, I finally got my big break: an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop where I thought my dreams would come true. But life had other plans. In less than four months, the shop I worked at dissolved due to issues beyond my control, leaving me without an apprenticeship and depleting my savings.

I was heartbroken, and for a while, it felt like my dream was ripped away. I've spent the past several months seeking another apprenticeship, constantly hearing praise for my skills but ultimately facing rejection.

Despite these challenges, I refused to give up. I started my own art business in 2023, continued to develop my skills, and made invaluable connections in the art and tattoo community. Now, three years into this journey, my portfolio is overflowing with work, and I've finally found a new opportunity with a private studio that believes in my talent. But there's one major barrier: this apprenticeship costs $2,000.

I am asking for your help to raise the funds I need to begin this apprenticeship, which will cover my education and training for the next several months. By the end of this apprenticeship, I will be a full-time tattoo artist, fulfilling a dream I've worked so hard to achieve.

My ultimate dream doesn't stop at just becoming a tattoo artist. I plan to eventually open my own private tattoo studio, a welcoming space where everyone can feel safe and comfortable. I want to create a studio that fosters creativity, self-expression, and inclusivity for people of all backgrounds.
