Art Supplies for Distance Learning
Beschermde donatie
This will be my 28th year teaching art to high school kids in Hayward, California. In less than a month, 150 new art students will join my virtual classroom, and we will embark on a year like no other. We're starting this school year with distance learning, but I hope it'll be safe enough to transition to in-person classes soon. In the meantime, I need to do as much as I can to provide my students with adequate resources while keeping them safe, so I'm asking for your help.
No Shared Supplies
My classroom supply budget is barely enough to purchase materials that students share. But with distance learning, my students need their own set of art supplies at home. And once we go back to the classroom, social distancing and safety protocols will not allow for sharing supplies.
Individual Art Kits=$$$
I want to provide my students with an individual art supply kit that they may take home for distance learning and use in the classroom. I teach approximately 150 students in the school year, and a student grade set with all these materials costs about $50 per kit. That adds up very quickly, and our district does not have enough funding for this.
How you can help
You can either donate directly to this gofundme or go to my Blick Wishlist that indicates the most essential supplies that my art students need. I hope to be able to place an order by early August so that I can get the supplies into my student's hands at the start of the school year.
As a teacher who believes in the power of arts education, I hope that with your help, I can supply my kids with materials they can use at home and in the classroom. Thank you for your support!
