Hi. It's humbling to have to ask for help, but sometimes help is needed.

Yesterday I was scammed out of $2000 by someone posing as a client commissioning me for an artwork. If you're an artist and someone you don't know, regardless of how legit they may appear, tries to pay you with an online cheque (in this case it was from a legal firm in Toronto), but sends you too much for seemingly valid reasons, do not accept it. They will cancel the cheque once you have sent the overage. And because I live paycheck to paycheck, I now owe the bank $2000 plus any fees. I'm saddened to have to ask for help, but I do.
