Art Project: The Story of the Scars by Max & Adiba benefiting metastatic breast cancer research.

As most of you know, I've gone through 15 surgeries since I was diagnosed with cancer. Each scar from those surgeries tells a story—a battle story visualizing the incredible strength and resilience we humans have inside us. I personally believe that we all do when it's really needed, especially when we are faced with challenges threatening our lives.

This art project will visualize the scars' stories and the human body's incredible resilience by using several art forms that inspire the viewers. The art project will come to life in exhibitions in both Sweden and the US, as well as be available in digital and printed form. All proceeds from the art project will benefit metastatic breast cancer research in Sweden and in the US.

To make this art project a reality, we are seeking donors and sponsors. Please email Adiba for more information or if you wish to make a larger donation, a corporate sponsorship, or similar.

Love and Live,
Adiba & Max

About Max Alm-Norell: maxalmnorell.se
With over 80 successful exhibitions under his belt, Max Alm-Norell is a seasoned Scandinavian artist. He focuses on the colorful and mysterious nature of art, aiming to make people reflect upon what is important in life through artwork that sparkles and radiates color, texture, and symbolism. Max’s art is well known to awaken feelings when hidden narratives emerge as illusions in his explosions of color, an effect which has become his trademark.

Max Alm-Norell also has a background as a worldwide photographer and has published and been referenced in numerous well-known magazines, among others, Italian Vogue, House Magazine, Residence, Filter, Plaza, and Boneo Magazine. Both his paintings and photographs are acclaimed in all major newspapers in Scandinavia.

In his artwork, Max Alm-Norell uses an innovative technique where he combines several photographs in the same image, conveying stories and opening windows to what it means to be a human being. He creates narratives that, through their surge of color and illusive imagery, like magnetism, urge the individual to find their own inner wisdom and dreams.

About Adiba: (Google search Adiba Barney)
Adiba has been telling her story to inspire, evoke change, and make an impact on a larger scale for quite some time now. In 2020, she published her biography, When Life Hands You Cactuses, Make Margaritas, in both English and Swedish (När livet ger dig kaktusar, gör margaritas!). Sharing her journey from the first breath taken in war-torn Lebanon, to being a refugee in Sweden, growing up in two distinctly different cultures as a young woman, love and heartbreak, fertility struggles, her booming career in the tech and startup industry that eventually led her to Silicon Valley, to being diagnosed with breast cancer three times, first at the young age of 27, a recurrence at 30, and the devastating stage 4 diagnosis at 37, meaning her cancer had spread and was now going to kill her.

In 2015, she was told she might have 2-3 years to live. Ten years and numerous surgeries, treatments, and struggles later, Adiba, now 47, is still alive and mother to her precious little 6-year-old boy, Alex. She lives with Alex and her two cats, Snow & Tiger, in the small town of Davidson in North Carolina.
