Print release to help a family

Donation protected
Hi there!

I'm Lin Stokke, a collaborator with the Norwegian-based street artist, AFK. Since we first connected in 2019, I've had the opportunity to assist him on a number of impactful fundraising projects. This campaign is tied to AFK's latest art print, "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas."

The proceeds from the sales of these prints will be directed to this GoFundMe campaign and then transferred to the Alzaqzouq family in Gaza. The primary reason for using GoFundMe, instead of a direct bank payment, is to ensure a safe and transparent money transfer.
Everyone is, of course, welcome to donate directly to this campaign. All support is deeply appreciated and will go a long way in providing the much-needed assistance.

The following text is a compact version from AFK’s newsletter explaining his relation to the Alzaqzouq family and the intention with this print campaign. To read the full text and see the artwork, follow this link… https://shop.afkstreetart.com/the-boy-in-the-striped-pyjamas/

Background:
Since the first Aesthetic Prosthetic auction in 2014, I have contributed to fundraising efforts for the Artificial Limb and PolioCenter (ALPC) in Gaza. Through this charity work I was introduced to Shadi Alzaqzouq, a Palestinian street artist currently living in France, and an active contributor to Aesthetic Prosthetic.
Since then, I have established a strong connection with one of his brothers and his brother’s family in Gaza. The family consists of Abdul (father and operation technician), Nagham (mother and primary school teacher), and their 4 daughters.
Abdul worked at Al-Shifa Hospital before it was destroyed in 2024. In addition to his skills in the operating theater, Abdul is a talented writer who uses his words to express the depth of his experiences, both privately and on social media. He speaks of the heart-wrenching lies he has to tell his daughters in order to give them comfort, and the daily dangers he faces when trying to procure food for his family. Abdul's unyielding hope and resilience are truly inspiring and worthy of emulation for us all.

Why is this campaign urgent?
As with everyone in Gaza, the situation for this family is dire. The family’s home was recently destroyed and Gaza city, where they are currently sheltering, is under attack. They have packed their meager belongings and are prepared to flee south to the Rafah border crossing.

How will the money be used?
The money raised through this print campaign will be used to pay the cost of passage into Egypt at the Rafah crossing. The prices for safe passage are exorbitant and there is the persistent risk of this border remaining closed. But in the case of it opening, we want to be prepared and ready to act.
