GOAL MET!
Hi, I’m Anna, the artist, facilitator and founder behind Well Wagon- a mobile art studio on a tricycle that brings creative and mindful experiences directly into the heart of Cardiff’s communities.
I am asking for support in funding an electric tricycle to help Well Wagon get further! Any little helps towards the £1000 goal required to purchase and modify the bike which would help my little body carry on cycling around Cardiff and beyond!
A little bit about how Well Wagon was born:
I founded the business during Covid 19 when I saw a lack of mental health support in my community, during a time where the only way to be 'together' was outside, which is why I came up with the idea of a travelling art space.
After graduating from Creative and Therapeutic Arts (USW) in 2019, I was full of positive aspirations for my (and our) future and I applied for Bright Ideas Den funding which supported my concept with £400, which bought materials to build the wagon.
Since then I have worked hard to self fund materials for everything the business needs, and I now ask for a little bit of help to see Well Wagon grow!
What Well Wagon does:
Through mobile art workshops, I deliver accessible, person-centred creative sessions in outdoor spaces, community venues, and people’s homes. I collaborate with local organisations and create spaces where everyone - regardless of background, ability, or income - can explore art as a path to connection, healing, and wellbeing.
Well Wagon is committed to breaking barriers for communities to access creative experiences and to support inter and intra connection for people to reach one's full creative potential through painting, murals, mindfulness, somatic movement, creative writing, breathwork and interdisciplinary work.
Well Wagon's manifesto is:
- WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF THE ARTS
- WE BELIEVE IN EVERYBODY'S CREATIVE POTENTIAL
- WE BELIEVE THE ARTS SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
Which is why each workshop includes sliding-scale pricing, a free ticket, and a donation-based ticket, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to creativity.
Why Well Wagon needs your help:
The tricycle has been a loyal companion on this journey - carrying art materials, easels, and creative dreams all across Cardiff.
But it’s becoming increasingly unsafe and unsustainable to pedal such a heavy load without electric assistance. The current trike was hand-built by myself and my dad and is becoming increasingly unstable, which limits how far I can safely travel and leaves me physically exhausted after each trip. In the past I have applied for funding to convert my tricycle into electric but have been unsuccessful in securing them so far.
I have sourced a second hand Christiania electric tricycle from Facebook marketplace. I will need £800 to cover the cost of the trike, and £200 to customise it with Well Wagon features, like a fold out table, and cupboards to store art materials.
A new electric tricycle will:
- Allow me to reach more communities, including the outskirts of Cardiff
- Ensure I can arrive at workshops refreshed, focused, and full of energy
- Make the project sustainable, both environmentally and physically
- Keep the Well Wagon safe and reliable, so creativity can keep rolling
- Allow me to donate my current tricycle to an organisation that needs it more
The impact of Well Wagon:
With your support, Well Wagon can continue to bring art, mindfulness, and joy to children, teens, and adults - including those living with dementia, people with mental health challenges, SEN ( ASD and PMLD), LGBTQIA+ community and people in social isolation.
Together, we can make sure that creativity remains accessible, inclusive, and mobile. Your donation directly helps power wellness and art across Cardiff - one mindful, colourful workshop at a time.
How You Can Help:
Donate what you can - every pound brings us closer to the new electric trike. I realise that these times are financially difficult, so there is no pressure to how much help you can give now.
Share this fundraiser with your community, friends, and local organisations.
Come to a workshop and support where Well Wagon is at this stage.
Follow Well Wagon’s journey on https://www.wellwagon.org/ and social media to see your impact in action.
Let’s keep the wheels of creativity turning - and make Cardiff a more connected, creative city for everyone.
Thank you for believing in the power of art, movement, and community.
