FUNDRAISING GOAL: $5000
WHY?
$5000 provides sponsorship for one room for 12 months, providing much needed support and a safe space for two men for 6 months each.
This is a very humble amount but will make a significant contribution to two men’s lives wishing to live a life free from substance use and/or other life-controlling issues.
Foundation 61 provides an individually focused rehabilitation program for people with life controlling issues. Their residential program includes full board in a safe and secure residence with onsite staff offering 24-hour support. Their holistic approach aims to support participants on their journey to full recovery. Foundation 61 provides a variety of resources and life skills to assist individuals to rebuild their broken life.
- Foundation 61 is a 15-bed facility that can support 30+ men on six-month-long stays.
- While some men don’t require to stay for the full duration of the half-year stay, some stay longer.
- Founded in 2005, this service relies on the support of our community to continue to bring hope to those struggling with life controlling issues.
Remember, every man may be someone's son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin who belongs to you.

Did you know...
Research shows that the leading cause of death for men aged 15 - 45 is suicide.
According to Beyond Blue (https://www.beyondblue.org.au/who-does-it-affect/men), on average:
- one in eight men will experience depression
- one in five men will experience anxiety at some stage of their lives.
- six out of every eight suicides every single day in Australia.
- the number of men who die by suicide in Australia every year is nearly double the national road toll.
Our annual fundraising campaign addresses the general stigma around mental health, as well as the lack of understanding around how to support those suffering with it. As a group, men are less likely to ask for support and less well positioned to offer support for others.
Harnessing the popularity of the arts in our community, our fundraising campaign is shared through all events and all networks, at community, business and government level, to help reach the largest number of supporters possible. But whilst aimed at everyone, we hope to reach men in particular to help drive the dialogue amongst this high-risk group.
We kindly ask you to support our fundraising efforts to show your support for Foundation 61 and help them continue to build on the incredibly life-saving work they have done to date.
