Funding for LGBTQ College TV Show "ART MAJORS"

Donation protected

ART MAJORS  is a TV show made by queer people for queer people. Queer love is messy, beautiful, sad, scary and hilarious. The cast find this out the hard way, but don’t we all? We hope our audience feels more confident in their identities and love lives by seeing themselves in the show.

This coming-of-age, college show about queer women is both the entertainment and visibility our community needs!

We need your help to get us through post-production of episode 1, and to fund the production of the rest of the episodes of ART MAJORS Season 1! Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover these costs:

For post production of the pilot:
1. Audio production and sound mixing costs for our original soundtrack.
2. Promotional materials.
3. Refunding the student filmmakers who paid out of pocket for some initial production costs.
4. Website, social media promotion, and other promotion costs.

For filming and producing the rest of Season 1:
1. Paying the actors (it is so important to compensate artists for their labor, especially during this pandemic!)
2. Equipment rentals.
3. Location rentals.
4. Post-production costs.
5. COVID-safety precautions. (Our pilot was a COVID-safe set, and we are dedicated to making sure the set of every episode is COVID-safe!)
6. Food for cast and crew.
7. Props and set design.
8. Costume design, hair, and makeup.
9. Additional production costs and fees.

ABOUT ART MAJORS
ART MAJORS is the story of Ximena, Laylah, and Frankie, three queer film stduents determined to take the movie and television industry by storm. But when they all get their hearts broken on the same day, big-screen success is the last thing they can focus on. Having hit a romantic rock-bottom, the three friends pledge to officially give up on love and chasing after girls who don't love them back, and just buckle down and focus on their careers. But things get complicated as romantic sparks fly in the most unexpected places and art school gets challenging, making “no more falling in love” and “breaking into hollywood” almost impossible.

ABOUT PRODUCTION
Our cast and crew of majority LGBTQ+ filmmakers and actors came together the fall of 2020 to bring this project to life, because none of us had properly seen ourselves (queer college students) represented in TV and media. We wanted to create the representation that we always wished we had.

We finished filming the pilot episode of ART MAJORS, but we need your help to get us through post-production and to film and produce the rest of Season 1. Your support goes to helping us get a sound mixer to edit the audio of the show, mix and master the songs on the original soundtrack, color correct the footage, and create the materials we need to spread the word about ART MAJORS.

We are creating this show so that queer people can have a college coming of age story they can relate to, made by our community, for our community. We are so close to finishing the pilot, but we need your support to get us through post production of our pilot episode, and to fund the production of the rest of the season!
