I am proud to join "Art for Assistants,” photographer Tim Tadder’s fundraising initiative created to support freelance photo assistants, the men and women who work alongside all professional photographers and make it possible for us to do the work that we do.
Our photo assistants are the backbone of our industry. If we’re not working, they’re not working, so we are doing what we can to raise the much-needed funds that will help cover their expenses and get them those funds as quickly as possible.
The goal of "Art for Assistants" is to enlist 100 photographers, each of whom are donating 100, 11x14 signed, limited edition prints. We are asking you for a $100 minimum donation per print, in the hopes of raising $10,000 individually and $1,000,000 collectively. Of course, if you are willing to make a donation greater than $100, that will be greatly appreciated.
I am donating 100 prints on Epson Ultra Premium Luster paper of my group portrait, “Stormtroopers at the Cinema,” from a 2013 shoot with Wired Magazine.
If your are able to contribute to this effort, please send an email to [email redacted] with your mailing address and phone number. Once we receive confirmation of your donation, your print and a Certificate of Authenticity will be put in the mail.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from your donation (with the exception of a 3% service fee for GoFundMe) will go to our crew members.
When all of the prints have been spoken for and our fundraising ends, I will enlist two other photographers to join this project and continue the effort to raise money for other photo assistants around the country and around the world.
