Art and Sales: A Path to Empowerment

The Opportunity

I'm getting the opportunity to show at one of the biggest events in the psychedelic research and visionary art space. It was headlined last year by Alex Grey (if you've ever seen or heard Tool, you'd know his stuff). I will be getting triple exposure--in the Shroomski Magazine, in an auction and market alongside other wildly successful Artists like Bo Bramwell, Chris Dyer and others.

*I will also be partnering with the head of the magazine to produce a training program for artists who know they need to be more comfortable "selling" but struggle to do so in a way that feels compelling and genuine. I've completed what I would call two "masterpieces" of mine this year, and I've been looking for the right place to display and connect them with a buyer.*

Why should my dream matter to you?

Maybe I've earned your love and respect. Maybe you like supporting dreams. Maybe you can see the unique potency for the culture in my project, AlcheMe. There is nothing more interesting and valuable in my eyes than supporting individuals to be more capable, less fearful, and more conscious and sovereign. My future vision involves not just training teams and individuals on sales, but creating an education center focused on vital skills, like critical thinking, self reflection, communication and beyond. I want to take the notoriety I earn, and use it to put quiet geniuses and their skillsets on display for the world to learn from. I have a dream so big that you probably wouldn't want to read all about it. It involves food systems, and medicine... but let's just stay on this topic.

They call them soft skills (EQ, reflection, space holding, etc.)--but really, they're the hardest skills around. They're the ones necessary if your children are going to walk with integrity and see eye to eye with each other, and I'm looking to bring them to the fore of our collective consciousness. I thrive in front of a classroom, and others thrive with me, even after our session is over.

After a long layoff licking my wounds from some life changing personal fallout, I'm back. And because of the position I have allowed myself into, I need the help of my friends, family and fellow dreamers to make this trip possible. I'll explain that in a bit more detail below. For now,

The Costs

I need to get to Denver, CO by June 17th. I'll be housesitting up until June 14th, so I'll only have 3 days! I need to get a variety of prints made, pay for my magazine slot and art auction booth, and get the bus repaired/gas to truck my supplies out west!

Just to refresh... I have been healing. I had 3 major life events including my own divorce take place, but whether I could focus on my work or not, It's my responsibility that I'm not financially prepared to meet this opportunity. I am tripling up on work where I can, taking on odd jobs and dog sitting in addition to waiting tables. But there simply isn't enough time to make the money I need in a month with expenses included. And the possibility of making it is greater than the anxiety and judgement I feel while writing this to you.

If I am successful at the art auction, I will be staying out in Denver through the month of July to brainstorm and produce an event to launch the artist education program that is on the table!

To whatever extent the trip is possible, I will be donating no less than 10% of the proceeds to www.tzkids.org (The Baobab Home - a regenerative farm, school and orphanage run by Terri Place, my dear Aunt).

I could spend days (I already have, putting this together) sharing my heart with you, the vision I've formed over the last 10 years--it's not all a bunch of big ideas. There has been much time spent on the practicality and reality of what I want to accomplish, and after continuously putting my ideas to the fire, I cannot help but conclude that the skills I have to offer are the only ones that will regulate our emotional health on a societal level (coupled with food choices and exercise), and OUR EMOTIONAL HEALTH IS WHAT IS DRIVING DECISION MAKING IN THIS WORLD!
