Art and Poetry Contest

BLACC (Building Legacy Artistry Culture Community) is launching a poetry and art contests for all people of color.

I started BLACC with the purpose of increasing artist recognition by providing media platforms to exhibit their work. I challenge youths and adults to use their artistic gifts to make a positive impact in an increasingly negative world.

Here is a television story about this exciting Art and Poetry contest

BLACC (Building Legacy Artistry, Culture and Community) offers participants  media outlets such as publishing, newspapers, radio, and television to showcase their talent at no cost. I'm lifting artists, poets, and other creatives who favorably impact their community. Would you consider supporting this effort by lifting them, too?

For example, from November 6, 2021, through February 19, 2022, artists and poets are invited to share their contributions online to BLACC's Facebook page or to BLACC's messenger at:  https://bit.ly/3BNGltd . The entries generating the most vibes as determined by judges, will be awarded T-shirts, sweatshirts, beanies (ski caps), backpacks and media recognition.

Two Grand prize winners will receive $500.00 each for their efforts. Ten honorable mention winners will receive BLACC apparel which includes beanies (knit ski caps), sweat suits, and T-shirts. Winners will be selected by the company's judges.

For the past three years, I have invested my personal funds to cover expenses such as merchandise, marketing, and promotion. I had the pleasure of meeting caring and inspiring people as I prepared to launch this initiative. One individual reminded me that it's okay to ask for monetary help from those who see the value here. So, I am.

About BLACC:

BLACC wanted to make an impact that would counter today’s negative atmosphere. We identified five core areas of attraction and needs for people of color, and in particular, people of African descent: Building, legacy, artistry, culture, and community. To raise awareness and achieve artistry recognition, BLACC encourages youth and adults to positively impact their legacy, culture, and community by utilizing their creative gifts. BLACC is a subsidiary of Gordavi, LLC, and was founded by Demetra Adams-Davis.  Like and follow BLACC on facebook at https://bit.ly/3BNGltd or email Fran Briggs, Publicist to BLACC.
