Donation protected
Clyde L. Elmore, Photographer
Please join us in donating to the Alzheimer's Association, in honor of Clyde and artists everywhere who have lost their ability to create, imagine, and remember what their passions once were. 100% of the proceeds collected in this campaign will go directly to the Alzheimer's Association.
The Artery is proud to collaborate with Clyde in featuring his photos and prints for purchase in the gallery from July 2 - September 2, 2025. The Artery is donating 50% of their proceeds from the sales of Clyde's work to the Alzheimer's Association.
Growing up on a farm, Clyde became interested in animals. He raised rabbits, terrapins, sheep, pigs, cows, and raccoons as pets. This began his interest in animals and wildlife.
Clyde used photography of plants and agriculture during his career at UC Davis as a professor in the Department of Plant Sciences. He included photography in presentations given all over the world. During his 40-year career, he photographed plants extensively, particularly wild and invasive species.
Photography of wildlife became his passion later in life. His love of traveling has taken him to over 40 countries, including South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, China, Cambodia, India, Laos, Mongolia, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, Alaska, and Yukon Territory, allowing him to photograph animals on four continents.
Recently, Clyde was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and has struggled to remember when and where he took photos. He confided in his granddaughter, Spencer, to help get his photography seen and appreciated. The newfound public interest in Clyde's photos has given him a new pep in his step.
