On September 30th, our home was targeted and destroyed as a result of an unprovoked, racially charged hate crime. We lost everything: clothes, passport, our bed, irreplaceable photographs, journals, cherished family heirlooms, our qualification certificates and birth certificates, laptops, books, and our life savings.

Whilst we are forever grateful to have not been in the van when it was attacked, we now starting over with nothing. It is unclear why someone would be this unkind and direct in their actions, or why they would attack us at night, as we could have all been sleeping and left severely hurt. We only missed the attack moments before, after having taken our dog out to go to a relatives house for tea.

As a result of this attack we have also had to leave the area that we called home, we have left our jobs, our family and friends. This fundraiser is to help us rebuild our life, secure safe housing, replace essential documents, and begin to recover from this traumatic event as we try to piece ourselves back together.
