Update: We knew that Andrea had cancer. What we didn't know what what type. She has been diagnosed with a rare type called Primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL) which is a diffused large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Andrea has had a large mass growing in her chest giving her the feeling of having pneumonia and a hard time breathing for the last month. The great news is that there is a great success rate in beating this form of cancer. The bad news is that Andrea will be in and out of the hospital, receiving intense 5 day inpatient chemo treatments each time, for about 6 months, all the while unable to work and take care of her family.
I started this fund as a way to help support my Godchild (and neice), Andrea, Mike and their family through this challenging time. We are so beyond blessed with the number of people who have reached out to offer support. For that, WE THANK YOU! This process of beating cancer is a marathon, not a sprint. Please keep sharing so that we can ensure that Andrea and her family have all the support that they need, during this time, to be able to focus their efforts on helping Andrea get well.
This account is going to be used for Andrea and Mike Rees and their family as Andrea wages her battle with cancer. She has a long, bumpy road ahead of her, but we all know how strong and determined she is, and we expect a full recovery.
Unfortunately, this process may take six months or more, and Andrea will not be able to work. Anything that you can give will be truly appreciated. There are also many other ways that you can help; grocery shopping, meal prep, checking in with her to see if she is doing okay.
Thank you for all your help!
