Otis Needs Surgery
Donation protected
On Tuesday February 13th an off leashed dog attacked my senior cat Otis on our patio in Cook St Village. Otis ran away and didn’t return home until Thursday evening with a severely broken back leg.
I rushed him to the Waves Emergency Clinic and his X-rays showed a broken and dislocated ankle. They put Otis under general anesthesia and gave him a temporary splint, some strong narcotics and the option of amputation or a “false joint”surgery at a later date. The vet also noticed a serious injury to Otis’ backside (possibly a rupture from the stress) which requires surgery.
Despite all of this, Otis has continued purring knowing he is now in good hands. He has been SO brave and I am SO grateful he came home.
I have now made the decision to proceed with an amputation and we were luckily able to book in with Vic West clinic this afternoon.
The less fortunate news is that between the two vet appointments, I am having to come up with a minimum of $6,500 today. This excludes the other backside surgery, which is to be determined later.
I have just started a new job and unfortunately I am unable to cover these medical bills on my own in such a short period of time. So, I am kindly asking if anyone is able to, to please consider donating to support Otis’ surgery.
Thank you very much.
Amanda, Otis and Eddie at the Pink Famingo Building in Cook St. Village.
