On January 11th, my family suffered a tremendous and sudden loss of my mother, who passed away after a long battle with chronic neutrophilic leukemia. My mother was the most kind, loving, and thoughtful individual we knew, and this loss has caused a major hole in not just my life, but everyone who knew her.

My mother worked endlessly hard as a single mother her entire life to ensure I could get the opportunities she never could, and continued to root for me even when diagnosed with such a devastating disease. With this sudden loss, it has proven tremendously difficult to raise funds for the funeral, as I am still navigating the expenses of university in order to complete my degree - which was my mother’s dream.
