Hola, mi nombre es Nicolás Unanue-Colón y tengo 15 años. Soy Puertorriqueño. Desde pequeñito llevo visitando el pueblo de Jayuya, pues mi familia tiene una casa allí desde hace mas de 75 años. Nos sentimos que Jayuya es nuestro hogar de reunión familiar y apreciamos muchísimo a la gente que vive allí. Para los que no conocen bien Puerto Rico, Jayuya es un pueblo que queda en el centro de la isla en la region de las montañas. En momentos difíciles cómo el paso del huracán Maria pude colaborar con Arriba Jayuya y Fundacion OBRA para llevar comida y rescatar perros. Ena esa ocasión, Jayuya estuvo casi 11 meses sin electricidad por estar tan inaccesible. Ahora con el huracán Fiona, puedo ver las necesidades criticas que están pasando los Jayuyaños. Otra vez sin electricidad y con mucho daños a la agricultura. Quiero personalmente involucrarme en ayudar a levantar a Jayuya y por eso estoy creando este GoFundMe. El dinero que ustedes donen en este GoFundMe será usado para (1) asistir a la Fundación OBRA que hemos identificado mas de 100 perros en Jayuya que necesitan rescate, y (2) asistir los esfuerzos de Arriba Jayuya en la distribución de productos de higiene/ linternas/ baterías/ estufitas de gas/ juguetes para niños/ artículos básicos del hogar y lo mas importante comida y agua. Tengo un compromiso con el pueblo de Jayuya. Yo sé que puedo con la ayuda de ustedes mejorar las vidas de muchas personas y de los perros sin hogar. Les pido su cooperación y yo me encargo personalmente de que la ayuda llegue a Jayuya.

Hoy jueves 22 de septiembre ya compre en Costco y en otras ferreterias/farmacias en el area metro de San Juan: agua en botellitas y en galones, cajas de leche Indulac, arroz, habichuelas, linternas de gas, lamparas de baterías, flashlights ya con baterías, estufitas de gas, jeans de hombres y camisas de hombres que nos dijeron que les hacen falta ropa. Mañana seguiré comprando mas cosas. Voy este fin de semana a Jayuya junto con #Arriba Jayuya y con OBRA para repartir todo lo comprado.

Hello, my name is Nicolás Unanue-Colón and I am 15 years old Puertorrican. Since I was little I have been visiting the town of Jayuya, because my family has had a house there for more than 75 years. We feel that Jayuya is our family reunion home and we really appreciate the people who live there. For those who do not know Puerto Rico well, Jayuya is a town that is in the center of the island in the mountains region. In difficult times like Hurricane Maria, I was able to collaborate with Arriba Jayuya and Fundación OBRA to bring food and rescue dogs. On that occasion, Jayuya spent almost 11 months without electricity because it was so inaccessible. Now with Hurricane Fiona, I can see the critical needs Jayuyaños are experiencing. Again without electricity and with much damage to agriculture. I want to personally get involved in helping raise Jayuya and that's why I'm creating this GoFundMe. The money you donate in this GoFundMe will be used to (1) assist the OBRA Foundation which has identified over 100 dogs in Jayuya in need of rescue, and (2) assist Arriba Jayuya's efforts in distributing hygiene products/ flashlights / batteries / gas stoves / children's toys / basic household items and most importantly food and water. I have a commitment to the people of Jayuya. I know that with your help I can improve the lives of many people and homeless dogs. I ask for your cooperation and I personally will take care that the aid reaches Jayuya.

Today, Thursday, September 22, I already bought at Costco and at other hardware stores/pharmacies in the San Juan metro area: water in bottles and gallons, boxes of Indulac milk, rice, beans, gas lanterns, battery lamps, flashlights already with batteries, gas stoves, men's jeans and men's shirts since we were told that they need clothes. Tomorrow I will continue buying more things. I'm going to Jayuya this weekend together with #Arriba Jayuya and with OBRA to distribute everything bought.
