Help Winslow AZ business owner fight for freedom

Good morning. I would like to point out how quickly this virus has taken our freedom with people on both sides of the isle comfortable with it. This is my 71 year old dad that was arrested for opening his “non-essential” business. He owns a Native American store in Winslow AZ. The mayor had put a note on stores that he deemed weren’t allowed to make money and for who knows how long. That in itself is communism dictatorship. On the note it mentioned, department stores are allowed to be open and feed stores. My dad drove to Phoenix and updated his business license to department store and had already started selling hay. This didn’t matter, the cops showed up and arrested him. Now my dad has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes to the city of Winslow over his lifetime and this is how they treat him. For all you people living in fear of the virus, he hasn’t even got 10 customers a day that come into his store since the virus. So don’t worry about him breaking any social distancing “rules”. Yes Walmart is open 1 mile away and sells similar items. The constitution and rights of law abiding citizens are being taken right before our eyes. Also you can see that police will follow orders no matter what if their paycheck depends on it and in the name of “safety”, SAD. If you would like to call the Mayor of Winslow and let him know how you feel you can contact him at [phone redacted]. Feel free to share.

Fast forward a month and the charges still have not been dropped and we are fighting the State of Arizona against a criminal misdemeanor carrying a fine of 2,500 and 6 months in jail.  The city of Winslow backed down within 1 week of the arrest and my father has been open for 3 weeks operating in the exact same way he was the day of the arrest.  We now have a costly case ahead of us.  We originally didn’t set up a go fund me due to we are against welfare and handouts but many have asked us to do so.  If funds are in excess we will help other small businesses.  We know God is in control. Thanks for your support.

The trial is set for June 26th at 10:30 with Judge BJ Little at Winslow Justice Court.
