Teachers for Tanzania

Story

In July, Andrea, Chad, Elise, my Dad and I are headed to Arusha, Tanzania and want to raise support for the local community. Surrounded by natural beauty, this area of the country is the gateway to the world's most thrilling safaris. It's also a poverty-stricken nation that struggles to provide a meaningful education to its children. After gathering information from local sources, we decided that the School of St. Jude is the most transparent and powerful agent of change in the area. Students are selected from families who live on less than $1.25 a day and are given food, housing and a quality education. Our plan is to work closely with the school and purchase as much as we can locally. $10 buys exercise books for a whole class, $50 provides mosquito nets for an entire boarding room, and $100 supplies 100 kilos of vegetables. Bigger milestones include laptops and hot water heaters but every dollar counts! Your generosity will stretch incredibly far and give aid to those who truly need it. For more information on the school, visit their website at http://www.schoolofstjude.org/about-us/overview.html And definitely check out the kids getting their uniforms on the first day of school here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyfHwVpD9Kg
