Anyone who knew Jason was indelibly and permanently touched by having known him. He had an incredible ability to make people feel welcome and included; even people he had never met before. His warm smile and hysterical sense of humour always lit up a room.
Jason was one of the most compassionate and selfless people anyone has ever met. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it... No questions asked. He was loyal and caring.
He was an amazing person.
Like all of us, Jason had his demons. While fighting those demons, he sometimes withdrew and made it difficult to maintain a strong connection, but he always tried. After years of battling those demons, he entered into a fight he couldn't win.
With Jason's passing, a light has gone out in our lives. The world is a little darker without him. But we know that he lives on in all of us and in our memories of him; we know he is in heaven, rooting for us all.
He will be loved and missed dearly.
In times of grief, it is hard to think of the right thing to do or the right thing to say. You never want to see someone you care about so upset, so broken hearted, so grief stricken. But, the truth is: there is nothing you can do or say that will make the pain less. All we can do is support the family and friends of the person who has passed.
Unfortunately, Jason did not qualify for death benefits from the government and didn't have life insurance through work. This has left the Schiele family paying for all of Jason's final expenses. Something that they have quietly and graciously done because of the love they had for Jason.
What we can do, as the people who love and support Jason's family; his mother Linda, father Jim, step father Bernie, brothers and sisters Justin, Sarah, Sabrinna, Ashlyn, and Braedon, is help them with Jason's final expenses.
Our goal is to raise $6,000 to pay for Jason's final expenses. If we can raise more than that, the extra money will be donated to a non-profit charitable organisation that helps people with addictions and their families.
Anything you feel comfortable putting toward this cause is greatly appreciated and would help Jason's family tremendously during this unimaginably difficult time.
