Orazio's Fight

Orazio Arrabito is a 46 year old Local 3 electrician who is an amazing husband and father. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on August 4, 2015. Due to being diagnosed with diabetes and having two pancreatitis attacks prior to being diagnosed, Orazio has been out of work on disability since late July. The tumor is at the head of the pancreas and doctors suggested 6 months of chemotherapy at a rate of every two weeks to shrink the tumor and make it operable.  Orazio and I (his wife Marisa) are blessed with two children, Vince age 9 and Ava age 5 1/2 and an amazing family who is always there for us. However, losing an income in a two-income household has taken its toll.  Disability only covers 6 months and is no where near his full income and payments are ending at the end of January. Co-pays for the doctor visits every two weeks, 4 hospital stays so far and numerous prescriptions are adding up.  In addition to medical bills, he has lost so much weight that he needs to take various supplements and vitamins every day that is not covered by insurance. He continues treatment and may have to undergo radiation for 5 weeks in February before surgery. Surgery will be in March or April and will require an 8 week recovery if all goes well.  We know he will beat this. He is proud of the fact that he has never had to ask anyone for anything, but this time he needs help. We know not everyone is in a position to give, but every donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help ease the financial burden as he fights this horrific disease.
