Arpad had a heart transplant on 14 March 2017! And we thank God for this beautiful gift and new life—but he needs help with his bills because he hasn’t been able to work for over a year. Even after his doctor insisted he stop, Arpad continued to work until his body could no longer take it. Arpad’s journey to a new life took 31 years. At 16, he collapsed in the weight room and had sudden cardiac death, CPR was started by a trainer and then he was revived by the ER doctors after 23 minutes of resuscitation. Arpad was diagnosed with RVD, right ventricular dysplasia, a rare, progressive, and debilitating heart disease that affects one in ten thousand. At 19, he got his first defibrillator, a device that shocks the heart when it reaches a dangerous rhythm. After many ablation surgeries, seven defibrillator replacements, and too many defibrillator shocks to count, it’s been a long, dangerous, and emotional journey. And several times, Arpad really shouldn’t have survived, but God just wasn’t ready for him—and all through his ordeal, he never complained, never was bitter, and made the best of it. Grateful for this miracle, but overwhelmed with his bills, we’re reaching out to help him cover his deductible and copays. Thank you and God bless.
