Aroha’s Recovery from Steven Johnson Syndrome

This go fund me has been created for Aroha’s recovering from Steven Johnson syndrome.

Aroha finally back in Perth after spending 4 weeks back home seeing friends and family taking a break from all the treatments and appointments that had been going on since getting out of hospital. She loved every second of being home and seeing everyone’s friendly faces

Since being back in Perth she’s now got glasses which have made a huge difference and has allowed her to be able to get back into daily tasks like cooking ect. Aroha is still having ongoing appointments with ophthalmology and has continuous drops but as a whole she feels as though things are improving in that area.

As for her skin, she is still having ongoing burning/itching sensations all over her body. These spots are very red and irritating but she was told she can get laser treatment called Candela V Beam Prima on her face, neck, chest, stomach and back which will help resolve pain and is very useful for redness and dilated capillaries. The only issue with this treatment is it’s only offered through private health and with Aroha unable to get back to work she is financially unable to pay for this treatment, as it’s on her face Medicare subsidies a small amount. Getting these treatments is the closet opportunity to get her skin back to regular.

With these ongoing appointments Aroha is still not able to work which makes it harder to get to and from appointments and get treatments plus medications needed. We’re stuck between a rock in a hard place where she could move back to NZ and get treatments subsidised but here in Perth the specialist are the top of the game and she’d be silly to go without.

Aroha and her family would be greatly appreciative for any help financially so she can go through with these laser appointments and get her skin back to normal.
