Arnold Road Community Flood Relief

Sumas, Abbotsford has been devastated by flooding from extreme rains in November.  Farmers have had their livelihoods wiped away. Without the ability to get flood insurance, and limited financial support from the government, the families are left to rebuild on their own.

 

This is where we come in and help as a community! This fund is going to the families on Arnold Road, Abbotsford specifically to help in the costs of cleaning up, rebuilding and any additional resources the families require to bring some normalcy back into the street.

 

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to its max potential to help the neighbours impacted.

Funds will be withdrawn to Monika's personal account where current bills will be paid out.  The  remaining funds be transferred to Cindy D who lives on Arnold Road.  Cindy will be purchasing storage bins and spending the funds on further cleanup efforts for several of the neighbours impacting on Arnold Road.

Below showing the ground floor garage/storage area being stripped of drywall and insulation.  The water was over 4' high in this area.


This photo below shows Monika's son Liam and a group of helpers with a large pile of building materials ruined from the flooding.  No material was salvaged due to the water damage.


Below photo showing how much ruined material and goods happened.  This is just one house on Arnold road.  The garbage disposal here cost $872 and that is after a generous discount of 15% off from Trash Panda Bin Services.  A 2nd disposal bin was filled at the neighbours house costing the same amount.



Below image shows one of the many groups of volunteers that have been helping in the cleanup process.  The 'lake' in the background is not suppose to be there, the flooding continued for many days.
