Arnica is arguably one of the most frequently used homeopathic remedies worldwide. It is commonly seen as the ‘go-to’ first aid remedy.
While there are a large number of clinical trials available assessing Arnica’s effectiveness in a variety of conditions, it is not comprehensive: we're missing trials on the impact in labour and head injury. There is also a lack of consensus over the current evidence supporting how and when homeopathic Arnica is best used and how useful it might actually be.
I am requesting help to fund an innovative project, which has two main aims.
First, to take an objective and systematic scientific look at the clinical evidence behind usage of homeopathic Arnica, cataloguing and categorising the included evidence fully, using relevant quality assessment tools and statistical analyses.
Secondly, given the large volume of evidence that needs to be assessed, I also aim to test and evaluate the impact of AI research assistant tools for their accuracy, transparency and efficiency in clinical evidence synthesis.
Evaluating the use of an AI research assistant in homeopathy could be game-changing as it is widely recognised that obtaining formal funding for academic homeopathy research is challenging. If the AI research assistant proves helpful, it would enable more research to be done at lower cost, opening new opportunities for broader positive impact of further studies.
It is imperative that the evidence for homeopathic Arnica be assessed in its entirety, using the highest standards of scientific integrity, to accurately inform patients, pharmacists, consumers, homeopaths and doctors.
Please help be a part of enabling this critical project, and supporting the longevity of research in homeopathy: all donations are welcome, no matter how small. In homeopathy, we know how powerful small actions can be!
