Arner, Go Fund Me

I am starting this Go Fund Me account for the benefit of my single-parent daughter, and her two young boys, of which one is a toddler. She has been struggling for nearly three years with ongoing health issues.
She is currently experiencing excruciating pain to the point of her passing out, uncontrollable seizures with cramping, and muscular spasming; she is immunocompromised, she contracted Covid 3 times, then she was in 2 recent car accidents that were not her fault. To make matters worse, she is hearing
impaired from an illness she suffered as a preteen. Even with hearing aids, her hearing has diminished dramatically over the past year. She has always been very proactive, teaching her boys basic sign language for daily communication skills. Due to the rapidness of the additional hearing loss this year, it prompted a visit to the audiologist. The prognosis was heartbreaking, a complete hearing loss within 2 to 5 years. These events, and others, have culminated in her needing help beyond what our family can sustain or provide. Therefore, we are forced to ask for help. This was not a decision we made lightly, but the emergencies have forced us to take this action.

Your gift to Go Fund Me will be used to pay for her previous and ongoing costs: She has been unable to have a traditional job during the three years mentioned above and has been doing anything and everything possible to bring income into the home to pay her bills. Currently, because of the
medications she is prescribed, she is now unable to drive also.

What we know: She has gone through a tremendous amount of testing to find the root cause of her health issues, P.O.T.S., bradycardia, and intermittent low blood pressure, to name a few. She will need additional testing, at least four surgeries we’re aware of, #1 prolapse from an emergency hysterectomy,
then exasperated by the car accidents, #2 lower spine, #3 neck, and #4 shoulder.

(disc at C3 through C5 has tears, a herniation, causing an indentation over the anterior thecal sac and
spinal cord. T3 through T5 has posterior bulging discs. T10 through T12 has Schmorls Nodes at the
cordical endplates. L3 through L5 has posterior anterior tear with broad-based posterior disc herniation
causing an indentation over the anterior thecal sac and neuroforaminial stenosis. L5 through S1 has
posterior anterior tear with broad-based posterior disc herniation and focal left paracentral disc
protrusion causing an indentation over the anterior thecal sac and neuroforaminial stenosis.
Retrolistheiss L5 over S1. Right shoulder Rotator Cuff tendinosis and edema with partial tearing of the
supraspinatus insertional fibers. Acromioclavicular joint edema which may represent ligamentous
sprains/injury. Left ribs T6 and T7 area and the BLE specifically the L4 and L5 dermatomal distribution
areas)

Each surgery will need to be spread out to allow for healing before the next surgery can be scheduled. OT and PT (occupational therapy and physical therapy) will need to be scheduled after each surgery as they are in different parts of the body. The approximation is she will be under doctor’s care for 2 years. This is going to be an ongoing, major undertaking, that will require a tremendous amount of mental perseverance on her part. The stress of the surgeries, the inability to take care of her children, the pain, and not being able to get out and about for a very long time will make it very challenging. She has no ongoing support at home to help her get through this independently.

Money received through Go Fund Me gifts will go towards unpaid and future medical expenses, food, rent, utilities, insurance, and transportation costs to and from medical appointments. Once the surgeries have started, she will need a caretaker at home to assist in managing her and the boys.

She is a vibrant, beautiful inside and out young woman with a caring heart of gold. She is worthy of this help requested.

We realize many of us have been going through challenging times these last few years. If you feel you would like to help the Arner family, and have the means to do so, it would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit counts. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Appreciatively, Dave Arner
