Early in the morning on January 21st, Arnaldo, accompanied by his girlfriend of 7 years Cassandra, was rushed to the emergency room complaining of severe abdominal pain. In an effort to figure out the cause, various tests were completed. While attempting to obtain a CAT scan, Arnaldo suddenly went into respiratory distress. He has not been conscious since.
Doctors later found fluid in his abdomen, which was likely the cause of the respiratory distress. Since arriving at the hospital, a multitude of tests, blood work, and x-rays have brought other issues to light. While in the hospital, it was determined that he had diabetes, severe pancreatitis, his lungs have collapsed, his kidneys and liver are not functioning properly, and he has suffered an undetermined amount of brain damage. With many questions still left unanswered, more tests are needed, which coincides with more hospital time.
Cassandra’s world quickly turned upside-down. The emotional stress of having a loved one in a vegetative state residing in the hospital for an unknown amount of time is distressing enough, let alone the financial burden on top of everything else. A two-income home quickly turned into a one-income home. The bills continue to pile up each day he is in the hospital. He has been residing in the hospital for over 2 weeks already and we are still waiting for answers. Please help this family in their most desperate time of need. No donation is too small, every little bit helps.
