Hi All,
On August 31st, 2025 my dad, John Noonan, collapsed at home and was rushed to the hospital. What began as sudden weakness and confusion quickly spiraled into a medical emergency that no family should ever have to endure.
Doctors discovered that John was battling sever sepsis (an infection of the blood). Upon further investigation, scans reveled something worse - a massive spinal epidural abscess (a pocket of infection around the spinal cord) compressing his nerves and threatening paralysis and permeant neurological damage.
Within hours he underwent emergency spinal surgery to remove the abscess and stabilize his corroded spine with rods and cages. For a time, there was hope that the worst might be over.
But this infection is relentless. Despite 3 weeks (at the time of writing this) of powerful IV antibiotics and multiple additional surgeries (knee, back, thigh, etc.), the infection continues to spread causing abscesses throughout his body.
John could be facing additional ongoing surgeries to continue addressing the abscesses. He will need 12 weeks of at-home care, repeated MRIs, rehabilitation, and oncological follow ups (don't get me started on the high cancer potential- he is being tested for multiple myeloma, leukemia, and lymphoma).
This has placed a financial burden on my extremely hardworking parents that were looking forward to retirement before this crisis. Now, we face a crushing financial burden due to the ongoing medical needs, medical bills, and time away from work.
My mom (John 's wife) is an PCU nurse herself and has been by his side every moment, but with her medical knowledge, the weight of this battle (both emotionally and financially) is more than any family should have to carry alone.
How you can help:
Your donation will go directly toward:
- Covering ongoing hospital bills and surgeries
- Funding weeks of IV antibiotics and rehab
- Supporting the family with living expenses while they provide ongoing care
Every prayer, every share, and every dollar will help him continue his fight for his life, his health, and his mobility. John Noonan is a dedicated employee, member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Any donation is appreciated to bring him back to the things he loves, including his family.
Much Love
