Army Mommas Waging War on Cancer
Donation protected

Friends don't let friends fight cancer alone, so this friend, Linda (I'm on the left) is trying to raise $10,000 for Jody (on the right). Let me tell you about her.
I first met Jody in 2011 on an army mommas page. We are a group of women who has sons, or daughters, serving in the army. Jody's son Samm was in basic training in 2011. During training Samm was shot and died on 12/8/2011. He was only 18. Of course Jody was devastated so we banded together to be there for her and still are, 6 years later.
In February 2017, after complaining of severe headaches, exhaustion and pain for more than 6 months, she was finally diagnosed with two brain tumors. She underwent brain surgery on 3/8/2017.

Unfortunately the doctors could only get to one, as the other was deep within her brain. The following day, she got the horrifying news that the tumors were cancer. She has, so far, suffered through 2 rounds of chemo, praying that it will work. Her chemo nightmares are followed by radiation therapy. She has been admitted to the hospital multiple times due to infections, the latest being 5/18/2017.
Jody had to go out on permanent disability, but until the appropriate govt disability goes through the govt red tape, she won't collect until September. Every month since March, she is $1,500 short. $4,500 and counting. Fortunately she is now on her husband's medical insurance, but she needs money to pay the bills and eat. No matter how many times I tell her to just stop eating, she doesn't listen. <kidding>, but it actually is that dire.
Back on a serious note, Jody has been pulling the short straw since Samm's death. How much heartache can one person take? It is not fair what she is going through & I know that sometimes bad things happen to good people, but all Jody should be concentrating on right now is keeping up the spirits and energy levels, so she can fight this cancer head on.
If you made it this far, I sincerely thank you. I pray that this page helps to raise the $10,000 she most desperately needs. Any amount would help, even $1, but my deepest wish is that you find it in your heart to help. We Army Mommas need her in our lives so much longer. We are 316 strong with Jody helping all of us. It's now our turn to pay it forward.
