Army Vet. Officer Michael Neumann

Michael Neumann died unexpectedly on 2/27/18 at his home. Neumann devoted his life to family, service to country and protecting others. Neumann held multiple degrees, one in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University and another in Intelligence Operations from Cochise College. He was also a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity. Neumann served 9 years in the Army and was as a Senior Intelligence Officer during his tour in Kosovo. He then completed the Army's Officer Candidate School and served as a certified Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Classroom Instructor.

Upon leaving active duty Neumann, a recognized Military Intelligence and Bio-metrics subject matter expert, continued to serve his country as a government contractor supporting forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. He supported the Army's Rapid Equipping Force, Project Executive Office (PEO) Enterprise Information Systems office and PEO Soldier office.  His colleagues said Neumann was known as a hard worker, one to always help others and would routinely finish his work and quickly look to help others with theirs.

Neumann continued to devote his life to service and in January 2018 completed requirements to re-enter the military as an Assistant Brigade Officer with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team.

Michael was the same compassionate man outside of work. He was a lover of animals; having 3 dogs, 4 cats, and a bird; all of which were rescues. During a vacation to Puerto Rico he and his wife (Amanda) actually adopted a stray dog, spending most of the vacation at the vet and coordinating getting it back home. He loved animals, and he also loved to cook. Cooking is a form of nurturing, which is the recipe of Michael's character. He was know to like spicy food and was the spice of life to his friends and family. Michael was also a car and music guy. He loved to work on cars and listen to music while cutting grass. Michael's neighbors, mostly retirees and elderly always knew when he was doing yard work or coming home. He became the best of friends with his car dealer. His dealer said, "Michael would just stop by and spend hours at the dealership just talking about cars and going to concerts".

When you think Michael could not be more of a giver, he continued to help others. Even in his death, Michael saved lives by donating all his organs to those in need.

Michael is survived by his wife (Amanda) and daughter Paige.  All funds will go directly to his wife Amanda. The fund was established in the hope that his friends, neighbors, brothers in arms, and everyone can assist Amanda in the tough days ahead. Unfortunately, this unexpected event has placed all the financial burdens on Amanda. Michael and Amanda were a couple that was used to helping others and now Amanda needs love and support. Please give what you can and share as an appreciation of Michael Neumann's life of dedicated service to this country.
