Army Brother-SGT Cerdenio & Family
Donation protected
SGT Cerdenio is a Marine Veteran with 3 combat tours in Iraq: 2003, 2004-2005, and 2008. A husband, happily married to Mrs Cerdenio since October 6, 2005. Special Needs father to two Autistic children, Libni III (2009) and Elizabeth Joy (2011). Ammunition Sergeant with the 371st and US Army NCO since November, 2012.
His daughter Elizabeth Joy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on February 7, 2022. Besides surviving the cancer, her Autism makes it more difficult which makes her refuse to take meds orally, of which she needs to take to her maintenance meds in order to survive her chemotherapy. She had a G-Tube put in to help with this and has a Port-a-cath for the chemo medication. Being a child alone has the danger of picking at or pulling out tubes placed in their body; being non verbal communication she has to be constantly monitored and prevented from removing her tubes.
Her older brother, also being Autistic, cannot be left in the care of others for any great length of time. With one child in the Hospital SGT Cerdenio needs to be at home with his son, and take turns switching out at the hospital with Mrs Cerdenio.
With deductibles and fees not covered by Health Insurance, along with the reduced income from not being able to work weekends or over time, finances are difficult at this crucial initial phase for Elizabeth Joy's care and healing to beat cancer.
May we keep Lizzie and the Cerdenio family in our prayers at night.
