Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues:
It's hard to believe but it's now been over six years since ClearWater Initiative formally merged with the International Lifeline Fund and our respective water programs were integrated into what is now known as Lifeline's "ClearWater Initiative." Together, under the Lifeline name, the joining of our combined forces has successfully provided increased access to clean water access throughout Northern Uganda. In continued support of our collective efforts, we are back to run our 13th (my 11th!) Army Ten-Miler in Washington, DC! All funds raised will support our sustainable clean water projects.
My personal goal is to raise a total of $1,500 but, to do so, I need your help. Simply go here and click donate. Any amount is appreciated.
As with previous years, many of the dedicated runners on this year’s team will run in honor of the ClearWater Initiative’s founder and my dear friend, the late U.S. Army Captain Benjamin Sklaver. This October will mark the 13-year anniversary of Ben’s death while serving in Afghanistan. This year is especially impactful in light of our recent withdrawal from the region.
Today, Ben’s mission and vision lives on through Lifeline. Since 2003, Lifeline has provided clean water access to over 260,000 people in Northern Uganda at a cost of just over $12 per person. We are proud to honor Ben’s legacy and are hopeful to have even greater impact through this partnership. A successful campaign will enable Lifeline to continue Ben’s inspiring vision of providing clean water to those in the direst of circumstances. Your generous donation enables us to generate a positive impact on the livelihoods of even more communities.
Best wishes,
Brett
