Armi's Army Fundraiser

It is with heavy and hopeful hearts, we share some news about Armi, our sweet, sassy, and fun-loving 3 year old niece.

After noticeably not acting like herself, being in pain all over and discovering bruising and spotting on her legs and body, my sister Kassidy and Armi's father Drew received the devastating news that no parent ever wants to hear, that their sweet 3 year old daughter has been diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This news has come as a shock to all.
They will have a long and tough road ahead of them. After her initial 8 day hospital stay containing one lumbar puncture, a bone marrow extraction, port surgery and her first round of chemo, she has begun the first phase of treatment and will continue to undergo chemotherapy for the next 2.5 years with the first 6-8 months being the most intensive with aggressive weekly treatments and a total of 18 lumbar punctures over the course of treatment.

As they are trying to process this news and be strong for their sweet girl, they are also being made aware that this road to recovery is unpredictable. They know that there will be times Armi will likely have additional hospital stays and doctor visits throughout her treatment.

With all her treatments and a weakened immune system, Armi will no longer be able to attend her in-home childcare. At a time when financial stress should be the least of her concerns, my sister began a new job at our local elementary school 7 months ago and does not qualify for FMLA or disability or any other assistance to help her take the significant time off that is needed to be there and to care for Armi. On top of this, she was told that the school district will also not allow any of her fellow staff members to donate sick time as they wanted to do to help her so I am reaching out to friends, family, our community and those who may not know her personally, in hopes of raising funds to help alleviate this financial burden and provide her some peace of mind so she can focus on Armi's recovery.

We are deeply grateful for any support you can offer during this difficult time. We trust in the Lord that she will be fully healed and restored, but the road getting there will be difficult. We have seen the Lord move mountains and we fully believe we will see Him do it again!

Thank you so much for your prayers and for your love and support. God bless you!

Isaiah 43:1-2

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."
