Armenia Fencing Studio Floor Repair
Donation protected

My name is Tigran Shaginian and I am a fencing coach in the United States. I recently was able to go back to my home country of Armenia where my love of fencing was instilled and my journey started so many years ago.
After living in the US and building a successful studio, I went back to the Armenian training facilities with one of my students and brought some equipment for the teams to train together.

Imagine my dismay to find the facility in a state of clear disarray and dilapidation. The only real machines they had available to fence with were the ones that I brought with me and the floor was so worn down that boards were worn through, the staining peeled away with the wood and nails sticking up as the students fenced. I was a bit disheartened as I saw myself in these young students and saw them eager to learn despite their surroundings.

I thought about how I could help them and what would help them the most. I have donated used equipment and other things so that they could train, but the biggest issue they have is with their floor. They shouldn't have to worry about stubbing their toes or cutting their legs by lunging too close to a nail that happens to be sticking up.

This is where I turn to you, the fencing community, and anyone that would like to give to children less fortunate than those in the US. I want to help give these kids an opportunity to fence freely and on a safe surface. Fencing is such an amazing sport and I feel the least that I can do is help fix their floor and provide some extra equipment so that they can fence and train more properly than they are currently.
Please donate anything that you can. I would like to reach the goal in the next few months to try to get the floors fixed quickly and before winter fully sets in, so they can train in the cold as well. I am sure the team and students would appreciate anything we can do to help them pursue their endeavors in fencing for Armenia.
Fencing in Armenia helped me throughout my childhood and allowed me the opportunities to develop the sport here in the US, so please help me give back to the sport in Armenia and help these aspiring fencers train for a better future as it was once given to me so many years ago.
Thank you to everyone for reading this and for possibly donating to help support fencing in a country that doesn't have the same opportunities as we do.
