I'm raising money to fund my husband's kidney transplant. He was born with only one kidney and a bad flu in January caused it to fail, functioning at only 10% now. I have volunteered my own kidney for the procedure but the hospital is requiring that we have enough money for the post-operation medicine that he needs to take which is going to cost us around $5000 a month. He needs the medicine so that his body won't reject the new organ. However, my husband hasn't been able to work since January and his social security hasn't been approved. I've been working two jobs cleaning houses and serving food at a school to maintain the household but it's not enough to raise the money we need to be approved for the transplant. On top of that, after the surgery neither of us will be able to work for some time, cutting off all income.
