My name is Angeline Pagdanganan, and I never imagined I would be writing something like this. On October 3rd, my life and my family’s lives changed forever.

That day, we were in a terrible accident when our car was struck by a truck trailer. My beloved father, who had just come to Canada for a visit, was killed instantly. I was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and have since gone through two major surgeries — one for my spine and another for my intestine.

I am still in the hospital, and the doctors told us that I will need to stay for at least two more weeks to recover. My husband and our 4-year-old daughter were also in the car. By God’s grace, they are both safe and recovering, but the emotional pain and trauma we all carry are beyond words.

My father was a kind, humble, and hardworking man who only wanted to spend time with his family. He was so excited to visit us and to see his granddaughter. Losing him so suddenly, in such a tragic way, far away from our home in the Philippines, has left an emptiness in our hearts that words cannot describe.

We are humbly reaching out for help to cover the costs of his funeral arrangements and the repatriation of his remains to the Philippines, where he can be laid to rest with our loved ones. Every single cent raised will go directly toward honoring my father’s memory and helping us bring him home to his final resting place.
