Support Armando in His Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We never imagined we’d have to write these words, but our world changed in January 2025 when our dad, Armando Martinez, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Our dad is the strongest, most selfless person we know, and now he’s facing the biggest fight of his life. This unexpected and life-altering news has turned his world upside down, but our dad is determined to fight with everything he has.

Over the holidays our father fell ill and after a series of tests the doctors found a tumor blocking his pancreas. After an endoscopy and biopsy procedure he developed a serious blood infection that resulted in a week-long stay in the ICU/hospital due to his body going into septic shock. While he remained in critical condition battling inflammation of his organs we learned of his cancer diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most rapidly spreading types of cancer and often goes undetected until it is too far advanced; we are fortunate he has the opportunity to undergo treatment. He will soon begin one of the most aggressive forms of chemotherapy to give him the best shot at beating this cancer.

If you know our dad, you know he has the biggest heart. He has spent his life giving to others—whether it’s the clients of his gardening business, where he goes above and beyond to bring beauty and joy to their homes, or the thousands of kids he’s mentored through the soccer leagues he’s led over the years. Whenever someone calls on our dad for help he is there to support. So many lives have been shaped by his dedication, kindness, and encouragement. He has always believed in lifting others up, and now we want to do the same for him.

Beyond his work and community involvement, our dad’s faith is at the core of who he is. He is actively involved in his church, and even in this difficult time, he is holding onto his faith and drawing strength from the prayers of his congregation.

He is facing six months of chemotherapy and a complex GI surgery to remove the tumor. While he is ready to fight, the financial burden is overwhelming. With medical expenses piling up and the inability to work during treatment, we are asking for your help. Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward his medical care, allowing him to focus on healing and continuing to be the incredible father, mentor, and friend that he is.
