Support Armor Down Girl's first awards ceremony!
Did you know that women make up only 28% of the STEM workforce in the United States? This gender gap extends globally, with some countries reporting less than 20% female representation in STEM fields (Source: MIT). Persistent stereotypes and a lack of women in STEM leadership roles continue to deter young girls from pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Armor Down Girl’s mission is to arm all girls with the confidence they need in the world, with a particular focus on African American girls and girls of color. Arming girls by increasing their confidence, eliminating self-doubt, and developing a growth mindset through a structured, consistent programmatic system that reflects self-love, dignity, diversity, positive self-image, and resilience; and by arming girls with financial confidence and STEM exposure. With this, we aim to set young girls up for success in the future.
Armor Down Girls was created by Dr. Felisha Parsons, an educator of over twenty-five years. Throughout her career in teaching, she noticed that the self-esteem and confidence of young girls seemed to be low. Drawing from her decades of experience in educating and serving the community, she decided to serve young girls and help build their confidence. Reflecting her hero, Muhammed Ali, Dr. Parsons aims to stand for her beliefs.
By donating, you will aid in the mission to empower young girls with confidence and equip them with the tools to find success in the world. With your support, we can:
- Provide mentorship and leadership development
- Increase access to financial literacy and STEM education
- Foster self-confidence and positive self-image
Every donation helps us expand our reach and uplift more young girls to realize their full potential. Join us in making a lasting impact—donate today and help us build a future where every girl feels seen, valued, and unstoppable.
