ArloAid
On the 23rd of September our 5 year old Shih Tzu Arlo became unwell. He was dragging his front right paw which made us think he had maybe broken or sprained it. So we took him to the vet who gave us some anti-inflammatory tablets advising him to rest it.
By the time we got home Arlo was completely paralysed on his right side stopping him from being able to walk or stand by himself. We rushed back to the vet who sought immediate help from one of very few neurology specialists in Scotland.
We were able to take Arlo to the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies for an emergency MRI which showed his spinal cord had been starved from oxygen as a blood vessel had been blocked due to a spine injury, this caused him to have a stroke. He is going to need a lot of nursing care and physiotherapy as he cannot be left on his own due to being paralysed on his right side.
We have insurance but unfortunately the MRI scan alone costs majority of the insurance cover. We hate to ask for help in this current financial climate, but he means the absolute world to us so we would appreciate all the help we can get.
The money would be used for any specialists visits to Edinburgh, medication, physiotherapy and any nursing care required at home.
Please help us make Arlo walk again.
