Arlo, the sweetest boy

Donation protected
This sweet and beautiful boy, Arlo, and his single mother, Ceryha, are going through something none of us want to go through - their entire worlds’ being turned upside down by an unexpected illness. On October 4th, the school nurse called Ceryha informing her that Arlo needed to be picked up because he had gotten sick. The following day, instead of sleeping it off as she thought he would, his skin had turned yellow. She then brought him to the clinic where she was told he needed to be taken to the ER immediately due to his Hg level being a 2, which is dangerously low. Arlo was admitted to the PICU for 6 days where he received platelets, fluids, and blood infusions. Unfortunately, none of these increased his Hg levels, so numerous blood infusions were necessary. During their hospital stay they were being prepared for a Leukemia or a blood disorder diagnosis. Even with that preparation and all of the tests that have been run, they still don’t know why his bone marrow isn’t able to produce any of his needed blood cells. They are currently awaiting on more test results, but being told many more tests will likely be necessary to figure out how to help Arlo. The only thing they are certain of is that he will need a bone marrow transplant regardless of what his diagnosis ends up being. The search has begun within his immediate family to see if anyone is a match for him. Due to the weekly appointments for blood infusions and platelet needs, on top of their upcoming and frequent trips to Minneapolis for his bone marrow process at Fairview hospital; Ceryha is out of work and in need of help to make these devastating and uncertain times a little more bearable.

For those that are able to donate and help get Arlo back to being Arlo; the healthy six year old boy, who loves slushies, his three sisters, cruising around in cars, working on farm equipment with his Grandpa and of course, his mama - it would be so appreciated. His entire family is thankful for your compassion during this time.
