A vast majority of Arlington residents—homeowners and renters alike—have no idea that the County government has proposed massive changes to its zoning and land use policies, nor any concept of what the impacts of those changes might be on their neighborhoods, schools, traffic, environment, quality of life, true equity impacts, or cost to live in Arlington.
Formed in 2019, ASF believes that before Arlington County adopts major new zoning changes to enable increased density and, as we adapt to a new identity as a hi-tech hub, we should first understand likely long-term environmental, fiscal, and demographic impacts, and only adopt major new zoning changes best suited to a sustainable community.
Arlingtonians for our Sustainable Future (ASF) is confident we can work together to educate many more residents -- our friends, neighbors, and colleagues -- on likely Missing Middle impacts and alter fundamentally the disastrous path down which County government is now headed. But we need your help to acquire sufficient resources to get the word out to as many residents as possible. Funds we raise will help us:
- Buy signs for residents to display
- Make and distribute flyers
- Pay for media outreach
- Conduct other communication and outreach that isn’t free
With your help, ASF will work to spread the word of the County’s Missing Middle Housing Plan to residents in all neighborhoods across the county. Please help us reach our goal of $5,000 to support our effort to alter the County’s reckless pursuit of more and more density anywhere and everywhere. Any amount you can donate — $5 or $50 or $500 — helps!
Donate today to continue our fight for sensible and reasonable planning for Arlington’s growth. Thank you.
