As you may have heard, Arlington Town Day Committee, citing rising costs, voted to not host Town Night 2018.
Arlington's Elks Lodge has generously stepped in to host a portion of Town Night - Thank you! However, this excludes the annual fireworks. The expected cost is $8,500, which includes the fireworks display itself, along with the necessary Police, Fire and DPW detail costs.*
For many of us, the fireworks on Town Night has been a big community builder - perhaps even more than Town Day. We can still make this family-favorite event happen! The fireworks display company is still available for September 14th and the town is happy to help facilitate, but we need to let the fireworks display company know by Friday, August 31st if we are able to make this happen.
No donation is too small...or too big. Yes - we'll take those $10 donations, those $1,000 donations and everything in between. Let's show how this town can come together and see the support that helps make Arlington such a wonderful place to live!!
* Small print :) - The additional $500 built into the goal is to offset the payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation. The funds will be donated to the Town Day Committee, who will then contract with the company and pay them directly.
If we do not reach our goal, your money will be refunded.
