Arleta HS Engineering Teams
Donation protected
It is with great pleasure to announce how our talents pay off at Arleta High School. This Title-I school has served low-income families since its inception. As a tenured staff of Mathematics and Engineering, my goal is to instill the love for science and math. At this level, my students annually compete in the Los Angeles Regional Bridge Building Competition. This honored pastime allows my students to compare their analytical and engineering skills within the region. As of last week, the team of 5 young men had another opportunity to showcase this talent, taking home the first and second place trophy. It goes without saying that it takes a village.
Sadly, the organization only sponsors the team captains for the next round at The International Bridge-building Competition in Chicago, Illinois, on April 29. The remaining team players must pay their own way in order to participate. I am seeking your support to help raise funds to cover the expenses for the remaining students, which will include airfare, lodging, and meals. On behalf of my group, we truly appreciate your help.
Sincerely, Mr. Elmer Sy
