It is with great pleasure to announce how our talents pay off at Arleta High School. This Title-I school has served low-income families since its inception. As a Mathematics and Engineering teacher, I aim to instill a love for science and math. At this level, my students annually compete in the Los Angeles Regional Bridge Building Competition.
This honored pastime allows my students to compare their analytical and engineering skills within the region. As of this week, the team of 4 young men had another opportunity to showcase this talent, taking home the first and second-place trophies. It goes without saying that it takes a village.
Sadly, the organization only sponsors the team captains for the next round at The International Bridge-building Competition in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on April 27. The remaining team players must pay their own way in order to participate. I am seeking your support to help raise funds to cover the remaining students' expenses, including airfare, lodging, and meals. On behalf of my group, we truly appreciate your help.
