We the Family and Friends of Arlene Sibetang are seeking your assistance through prayer and donation for our loved one.

Arlene has dedicated most of her life to the service of others. She is a Veteran, has worked with the rehabilitation of children in crisis and is now a Firefighter with the Guam Fire Department. In Early 2021 Arlene began experiencing severe abdominal pains, after being diagnosed with a ruptured appendix, Arlene had undergone surgery to remove her appendix. For weeks after her surgery Arlene continued to experience severe pain in her abdomen and was admitted and treated for a subsequent infection related to the rupture. Throughout the majority of 2021 Arlene continued to experience pain to her abdomen. In October of 2021, at the encouragement of her family, Arlene was seen at her primary care physician’s office for continued abdominal discomfort. After review of her pathology reports from her initial admittance for appendicitis it was found that the rupture of her appendix had masked the far more serious signs of Mucinous Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma, a rare cancer that accounts for less than 1% of all cancers. Arlene had signs of growths along the surface of her appendix causing the rupture. Unfortunately, the rupture had caused the undiagnosed cancer to spread along the inner lining of her abdomen and into her stomach. In November 2021, Arlene travelled form Guam to Palo Alto, California for treatment. Shortly after her arrival Arlene was rushed to Stanford Medical Center’s Emergency Department for severe abdominal pains. During her admittance at Stanford Health it was determined that Arlene’s cancer had metastasized into her upper pelvis, abdomen and liver. She began a regiment of medications, chemotherapy and transfusions. Arlene was transferred to California Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, California where she continues to receive treatment.
