Arlene wants to walk again

Hi my name is Alvern Bullard

I have a big sister and her name is Arlene-ann. Arlene-ann has been an amazing big sister to her siblings for 51 years as well as a very strong support to her niece Ariselle for over 30 years.

This photo was taken in January 2023. It was the first time that Arlene was able to experience a family reunion with all her siblings in the same place and time in 24 years!

Unfortunately, Arlene was diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer in December last year and we were pulling out every stop to get her the best cancer treatment possible.

Only days before her brachytherapy was due to start, Arlene experienced a stroke on the right side of her body and she was rushed to hospital and admitted. It was there that we learned that the cancer had spread to other parts of her body including her lungs.

Now that she is no longer in the hospital we are faced with another level of complexity and the harsh reality that because of the stroke, Arlene now needs 24/7 at-home care. She also needs rehab care that’ll help her gain some level of independence to move around the house.

Arlene is determined to pursue all options available and they need to be funded. Arlene is not able to raise funds for herself due to her circumstances so I’m doing it on her behalf and it will then be transferred to my siblings who are caring for her directly.
